Boiling BLOOD Of Medicos

MEDICAL STUDENTS’ STRIKE AGAINST EXTENSION OF COURSE
what are we on strike against? o The extension of M.B.,B.S., course from 5 ½ to 6 ½ yearso The compulsory appointment of medical students (not registered as doctors) for rural serviceo Abolishing the appointment of regular fully qualified registered doctors in villageso Young doctors being deprived of permanent jobs

HOW ARE MEDICOS BEING AFFECTED?
Prolonging this course is an extra burden on these families because most of them come from middle and lower socio economic classes. It deprives us of the permanent job opportunities as PHC medical officers in the future. It is also a hindrance to our further medical education.

WHY IS THIS PROPOSAL A FAILURE?
There is an abject lack of medical infrastructure and facilities in Primary Health Centres in the villages. Only sending inexperienced trainee doctors there will not serve the purpose. This scheme is a mere eyewash, only intended to cover up the lacunae in the government

WHAT DO WE DEMAND?
* Union Health Minister should abandon this scheme which is of no benefit to the medical students nor to the general public* Medical facilities and infrastructure should be improved in the villages and Health awareness should be increased in the public
This policy is a direct attack on our basic rights. The need of the hour is to involve all medical colleges across India and intensify the protest.
